The Taliban announced a Qatar-brokered prisoner swap with the US. Afghan fighter Khan Mohammad, jailed in America for nearly 20 years, was exchanged for US detainees and returned to Afghanistan. Mohammad, arrested 2 decades ago, had been serving a life sentence. The Afghan foreign ministry confirmed this agreement in an official statement.
