Part Of British-Era Bridge Linking Unnao & Kanpur Collapses

A section of a historic bridge on the Ganga, connecting Kanpur and Unnao, collapsed early Tuesday. Built in 1874 by the Avadh and Rohilkhand Railway Limited, the bridge had been closed since 2021 after cracks appeared. The collapse occurred around 2 am, but no injuries were reported, as the bridge had been closed for traffic since the safety concerns emerged.
