Govt Likely To Extend Shaktikanta Das’ Term As RBI Governor

Central government is expected to extend the term of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das for a second term, sources told Reuters. This extension would make him the longest-serving RBI chief since the 1960s. Das, who has been in office since December 2018, has already surpassed the typical five-year term, with the extension exceeding the tenure of Benegal Rama Rau.
