Financial Stress Forces 11 Airlines To Shut Down In India

Since 2016, 11 airlines have shut down in India due to financial and operational problems, the govt told Parliament. While the govt supports aviation with policies, infrastructure, and regional schemes like UDAN, it does not interfere in airline operations. AirAsia merged with Air India Express, Vistara merged with Air India, and dues vary among grounded airlines.
