Global Policies To Cut Plastic Waste And Carbon Emissions By 2050

A UC Santa Barbara study proposes four policies to cut plastic waste by 90% and reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2050. These include using 40% recycled materials in new plastics, capping plastic production, boosting waste management investments, and imposing a packaging fee. The study aims to influence negotiations for the upcoming Global Plastics Treaty in South Korea.
