Delhi: Centre Increases Penalties For Crop Stubble Burning To Combat Pollution

The Centre has increased penalties for farmers involved in crop stubble burning to address worsening air quality in Delhi and surrounding regions. Under the new rules, farmers with less than two acres will face a Rs 5,000 fine, those with two to five acres will incur a Rs 10,000 penalty, and farmers with over five acres will be fined Rs 30,000 for stubble burning.
