The National Green Tribunal warned that untreated sewage flowing into the Ganga in Prayagraj could harm the health of millions of pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh Mela. The tribunal criticized the delay in preventive measures and urged the high-powered committee to take urgent action before the festival begins on Jan 14, 2024.
