Indian markets ended the day in the green as the BSE Sensex rose 158.51 points to 85,265.32 and the Nifty 50 added 47.75 points to close at 26,033.75. The rupee traded at ₹89.97 per US dollar. Gains were led by IT majors Infosys and TCS, while banking heavyweights HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank weighed on the indices.
