Maharashtra Govt Reappoints Rashmi Shukla As State Police Chief

After the assembly elections, the Maharashtra government has reinstated IPS officer Rashmi Shukla as Director General of Police (DGP), according to an order from the state home department on Monday evening. Sanjay Kumar Verma had temporarily taken over the role following Shukla’s removal at the Election Commission’s request. The Congress had previously called for her removal.
