Israel Instructs Troops To Stay In Syria Buffer Zone Through Winter

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has directed the military to prepare to remain in the UN-patrolled Golan Heights buffer zone through the winter. After Syria’s turmoil and the removal of President Bashar al-Assad, Israel has intensified air and naval strikes to target Syrian military assets. Katz said the strategic importance of maintaining troops at Mount Hermon despite harsh weather.
