The Madras High Court has instructed the CBI to investigate the alleged assault and harassment of a minor rape survivor’s parents by a woman police inspector in Chennai. The incident, reported in August, involved the mother being detained and assaulted. The inspector also questioned the survivor at the hospital, breaching POCSO guidelines. The court allowed the family to seek monetary compensation.
