Central Govt Introduces VRS In AP’s Visakhapatnam Steel Plant

The Central Government has announced a Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) aimed at reducing the number of permanent employees at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in Andhra Pradesh. Employees seeking VRS must have completed 15 years of service and be under 45 years of age. Labor unions have alleged that the government is conspiring to send 2,500 workers home under the guise of this scheme.
