Security forces killed Maoist leader Modem Balakrishna, alias Manoj, along with nine other Naxalites during an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district. The Special Task Force, CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action – an elite unit of the CRPF), and other state police units are involved in the operation. The operation is still ongoing.
