Writer Banu Mushtaq Chosen For Mysuru Dasara Opening

Kannada writer Banu Mushtaq, the first Kannada author to win the International Booker Prize for “Heart Lamp,” will inaugurate Mysuru Dasara on September 22. While CM Siddaramaiah’s government honoured her, expelled BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal objected, arguing her Islamic faith conflicts with leading the festival’s religious inauguration ceremony.
