No Proposal To Increase Retirement Age Of Judges: Government

 Government informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that there is no proposal to increase the retirement age of Supreme Court and high court judges. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal clarified that the Constitution does not mention any “cooling off” period for post-retirement assignments. SC judges retire at 65, HC judges at 62, and district judges at 60.
