Canada Planning To Reduce Immigration Quotas

Canada plans to significantly reduce its immigration numbers for the first time in years, allowing 395,000 permanent residents in 2025, down from 485,000 in 2024. Temporary residents will also decrease by about 30,000 to around 300,000. Amid rising concerns over housing and healthcare, immigration has become a contentious political issue ahead of the upcoming federal election.
