An outbreak of avian influenza has been confirmed at a duck farm in Gyoda city, Saitama, Japan, marking the season’s first in the region. After several ducks were found dead, genetic testing confirmed the virus. In response, 2,500 ducks were culled, and movement restrictions were imposed. This is the 11th avian influenza case in Japan this season.
