Uttarakhand Court Quashes ONGC Contract Hiring Ban

The Uttarakhand High Court has struck down a 1994 Centre-issued notification that barred ONGC from hiring contract workers. Justice Pankaj Purohit ruled it invalid due to lack of mandatory consultation under Section 10 of the Contract Labour Act, 1970. The decision ends a 31-year-old restriction on contractual employment at ONGC.
