The Supreme Court ruled that Presidents and Governors cannot be bound by timelines to approve Bills, calling such deadlines unconstitutional. A five-judge bench led by CJI BR Gavai said executive actions under Articles 200, 201, and 361 are not justiciable, striking down ‘deemed assent’ as judicial overreach and a violation of the Constitution.
