The Central government has made key changes to the Swatantrata Sainik Samman Yojana, a scheme that provides pensions to freedom fighters and their eligible dependents. Now, eligible recipients are only required to submit their life certificate once a year in November. Under this new rule, if a pensioner fails to submit their life certificate by Nov deadline, their pension will be paused.
