In August, BSNL outperformed major telecom rivals Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea by adding 2.5 million subscribers, while Jio lost 4 million and Airtel dropped 2.4 million. The shift follows recent tariff hikes of up to 15% by competitors. Despite its growth, BSNL’s market share remains low at 7.8%, with a significantly lower Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) of approximately Rs 90 compared to its rivals.
