Bengaluru: IMD Issues Orange Alert; Schools Closed Due To Heavy Rain

The IMD has issued an ‘orange’ alert for Bengaluru due to heavy rain forecasts, leading to the closure of all aided, private schools, Anganwadi centers, and high schools on October 16. Following heavy rainfall, many areas experienced waterlogging and traffic congestion, prompting BBMP to establish 24/7 control rooms and a helpline (1533) for rain-related issues.
