Patna HC Halts Eviction Of Mahadalit Woman In Begusarai

The Patna High Court has directed the Bihar govt to stay the eviction of Mahadalit woman Saroj Devi from a Musahar settlement in Begusarai until further orders. The state had issued a notice under the Bihar Land Encroachment Act, 1956, but the court adjourned the case for 4 weeks, directing officials not to enforce eviction until the next hearing on April 7.
