The Cabinet approved three rail multi-tracking projects worth ₹9,072 crore, adding 307 km across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The Gondia-Jabalpur, Punarakh-Kiul, and Gamharia-Chandil lines will improve connectivity to 5,407 villages, boost passenger and freight efficiency, support 52 MTPA cargo, reduce CO₂ emissions, and cut oil imports.
