Domestic air passenger traffic hit a record 5.05 lakh on Nov 17, driven by festive and wedding season demand, the civil aviation ministry reported. Airlines operated 3,173 flights with over 90% occupancy. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu attributed the milestone to accessible travel initiatives like UDAN, while IndiGo celebrated carrying 3.1 lakh passengers. Strong winter demand is anticipated.
