A 45-year-old priest took his own life after goddess Kali failed to “appear” to him during a 24-hour prayer session in Varanasi, according to police reports. Amit Sharma was found with a self-inflicted throat wound at his rented home in Gaighat Pathangali. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Sources revealed he was a devoted follower of Maa Kali.
