Coal India Ltd (CIL), a state-owned company, increased its coal production by 2.4% to 471 million tonnes (MT) during the April-November period of the current financial year, compared to 460 MT in the same period last year. CIL, which accounts for over 80% of India’s domestic coal production, also reported a 1.7% rise in November, producing 67.2 MT, up from 66 MT.
