WHO Grants Emergency Use Approval For Second Mpox Vaccine

The WHO approved KM Biologics’ LC16m8 mpox vaccine for emergency use, marking the second vaccine to receive approval. This aims to improve vaccine access in outbreak areas. Japan will donate 3.05 million doses to the DRC. WHO also warned against using the vaccine in pregnancy or for immunocompromised individuals. Mpox, formerly monkeypox, causes fever, aches, and skin lesions.
