Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano Erupts, Sending Lava Soaring Into Sky

Kilauea volcano erupted again on Monday, sending lava columns 80 meters high above Hawaii. The eruption began in the southwestern caldera, with molten rock and lava bombs ejected. The plume reached 6,000-8,000 feet, causing concerns about vog, volcanic smog. Kilauea, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, has been erupting regularly since 1983.
