Indian government said that Indian deportees in Panama are “safe and secure.” It added that New Delhi is closely monitoring the ongoing deportations of illegal migrants from the United States and the situation in Panama. Panama acts as a transit hub for the immigrants. This comes after images of Indian deportees showing signs that read, “Please help us” and “We are not safe” surfaced online.
