Punjab Hits Season’s Highest Farm Fire Cases at 1,251 As Delhi Suffers

Punjab reported a season-high 1,251 farm fire cases, bringing the total to 9,655. Muktsar recorded the most incidents at 247. Despite this surge, the state saw a 71% decrease in stubble burning compared to last year. From September 15 to November 18, Punjab witnessed significantly fewer farm fires, contributing to air pollution in Delhi-NCR. The state recorded 36,663 farm fires in 2023.
