Union Carbide Toxic Waste To Be Moved 250 Km After 40 Years

The removal of 377 metric tonnes of hazardous waste from the Union Carbide factory in Bhopal has begun, following a Madhya Pradesh High Court order. The waste, from the 1984 gas tragedy, will be transported 250 km to Pithampur for incineration. Authorities face contempt if the waste isn’t removed within 4 weeks, per the court’s directive.
