Javed Akhtar Faces Defamation Case Over RSS-Taliban Comment Withdrawn

A defamation case against Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar, filed over his 2021 comparison of RSS to the Taliban, has been withdrawn. Mumbai-based lawyer Santosh Dubey informed the court that the matter was settled through mediation. Following Dubey’s request, the Mulund Magistrate Court acquitted Akhtar of defamation charges, providing him relief from further legal proceedings.
