Civic Body Orders Kolkata Shops & Eateries To Display Bengali Signboards

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has mandated that all commercial establishments display signboards in Bengali alongside other languages. The civic body aims to enforce this by Feb 21, 2025. KMC Secretary Swapan Kundu confirmed that the corporation is working with business owners to implement the rule, with Mayor Firhad Hakim also encouraging the use of Bengali in advertisements and signage.
