Telangana Cancels PACS Elections, Opts For Appointed Panels

The Telangana government has decided to cancel elections to Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and adopt appointments on the lines of Agricultural Market Committees. It aims to form governing bodies before Sankranti. Each PACS will have a 13-member panel with a chairman, vice-chairman and 11 directors, including three posts.
