The DMK and ally VCK signed a seat-sharing pact for the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, allotting VCK eight seats, 6 reserved and 2 general. Initially seeking ten, VCK settled for 8. Thol Thirumavalavan said the two general seats were secured, praising DMK’s concessions and emphasizing alliance unity within the 18-party Secular Progressive Alliance.
