SC Rejects PIL On Political Party Members Contesting Bar Elections

Supreme Court on Friday emphasized that while democracy allows for different ideologies, they must align with the Constitution. The bench, comprising Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan, rejected a PIL seeking to bar members of political parties from contesting elections for bar bodies. The court stated there is no law preventing such candidacies.
