A 20-year-old nursing student, Nikhita from Kasaragod, was found dead at her husband’s home in Kannur under suspicious circumstances. This sparked allegations of mental harassment. Married in 2024 to Gulf-based engineer Vysakh, she was discovered hanging in their bedroom. Police registered an unnatural death case. A similar case in January saw a 19-year-old student die by suicide.
