Faculty Urge Governor’s Intervention As Protests Disrupt North Eastern Hill University

Faculty members at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) have sought intervention from Meghalaya Governor CH Vijayashankar to address ongoing unrest, which has disrupted university operations. Protests, now in their third day, involve students staging a hunger strike outside Vice-Chancellor PS Shukla’s office. They demand his removal, along with the “incompetent” registrar and deputy registrar.
