SC 9-Judge Bench To Hear ‘Industry’ Definition Case On Mar 17

A nine-judge Constitution bench of the SC will begin hearing on March 17 on defining “industry” under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. Led by Surya Kant, the bench will examine the 1978 Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board vs A. Rajappa ruling and the impact of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020. The hearing is set to conclude on March 18.
