A 35-year-old Bengaluru woman, Vanajakshi, died after her live-in partner Vithal set her on fire at a traffic signal. The horrific act followed tensions over his alcoholism and her new friendship. Despite medical help, she succumbed to 60% burns. Vithal, injured during the attack, was arrested within 24 hours. Police have invoked strict charges.
