Naresh Meena, an independent candidate in Rajasthan’s Deoli-Uniara by-poll, was arrested on Thursday after slapping an election official on camera. Following a dramatic standoff, Meena, who had refused to surrender, urged his supporters to surround the police. A large police team, including riot gear officers and vehicles, conducted a strategic operation to detain him, as confirmed by SP Vikas Sangwan.
