Saudi Cuts Indian Private Hajj Quota, Triggers Concern

Saudi Arabia has slashed 80% of India’s private Hajj quota, affecting over 52,000 pilgrims. Leaders Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah have urged India’s external affairs ministry to intervene. The sudden move, reportedly due to Mina zone cancellations, has distressed pilgrims and operators. Hajj 2025 is expected from June 4–9.
