Delhi Govt Mandates Physical ID Verification For Alcohol Service

Delhi govt has mandated that hotels, clubs, and restaurants serving liquor verify patrons’ age using physical govt-issued IDs following incidents of underage drinking. Legal drinking age in Delhi is 25. Inspections revealed that some establishments served alcohol to underage individuals using fake IDs. Excise department now requires physical IDs, excluding digital copies except those stored in Digilocker.
