No Prosecution Of Waqf Land Occupants Before 2013: Kerala HC

The Kerala High Court ruled that the 2013 Waqf Act amendment, which criminalized unauthorized occupation of Waqf property, does not apply retrospectively. The court quashed criminal proceedings against postal officials who had operated a post office on Waqf land since 1999, before the amendment. The High Court found that the amendment didn’t cover actions prior to its implementation.
