A section of hotels and restaurants in Chennai and parts of Tamil Nadu declared a holiday on March 11 due to a shortage of commercial LPG supply. Customers who arrived for tea and coffee were disappointed by the closures. Residents also voiced concern that the shortage could soon affect domestic LPG, whose booking period has already been extended.
