A stone tablet with engravings of the Ten Commandments sold for $5 million at Sotheby’s, despite doubts about its authenticity. Discovered in 1913 in Israel, the 115-pound slab contains only nine commandments and dates from 300-800 CE. Originally expected to sell for $1-2 million, bids soared to $5 million. It was previously held privately and later displayed at the Living Torah Museum in Brooklyn.
