49 Firearms Seized, 43 Arrested In Bengal Violence Crackdown

West Bengal Police seized 49 illegal firearms, 20 rounds of ammunition, and arrested 43 individuals in a statewide crackdown on arms smuggling. The drive, ordered by DGP Rajeev Kumar, also led to the confiscation of drugs. The operation followed an attack on TMC councillor Sushanta Ghosh. Police intensified efforts with raids, covert operations, and daily naka checks to combat violence and smuggling.
