The Bharatiya Janata Party released its first list of 27 candidates for Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, fielding Tamilisai Soundararajan from Mylapore, Vanathi Srinivasan from Coimbatore North, 18, and L. Murugan from Avanashi. Under the NDA pact, AIADMK gets 169 seats, BJP 27, PMK 18, and AMMK 11. Polling is April 23, and counting is May 4.
