A 16-month-old boy from East Medinipur, West Bengal, suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), has received a life-saving gene therapy injection valued at ₹18 crore for free at a Kolkata hospital. The child’s condition improved after the treatment, which is crucial for children under two years old. His mother expressed gratitude for the support in securing the therapy, as he is now under medical observation.
